EVRAID is an Egyptian deep-tech company developing and manufacturing electric vehicle technologies, with a focus on battery systems, Battery Management Systems (BMS), electric powertrains, and automotive electronics .We work across the complete product-development lifecycle from system architecture and hardware engineering through validation, manufacturing, and product integration with a strong focus on safety, reliability, performance, and real-world MENA operating conditions. We are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team and contribute to the development of production-ready automotive electronics.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and develop automotive electronic hardware for BMS, motor controllers, DC-DC converters, and other EV powertrain systems.
    • Develop analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics circuits.
    • Design and review MOSFET IGBT power stages, gate drivers, current and voltage sensing, protection circuits.
    • Create and review schematics, PCB layouts, stack-ups, component selections, and engineering BOMs.
    • Perform hardware calculations, simulations, design reviews, and design trade-off studies.
    • Support PCB layout, signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, and EMC/EMI design considerations.
    • Develop hardware prototypes and perform bring-up, debugging, characterization, and validation.
    • Define and execute hardware verification and validation tests using laboratory equipment.
    • Investigate hardware failures and perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with embedded software, systems, mechanical, testing, manufacturing, and functional-safety teams.
    • Support DFMEA, DFM/DFA, design-for-reliability, and production readiness activities.
    • Prepare technical documentation including design specifications, test plans, test reports, BOMs, and engineering change documentation.
    • Support transition from R&D prototypes to manufacturable production hardware.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of EVRAID hardware architectures, design methods, and engineering processes.

    Must Have

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware design.
    • Strong understanding of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
    • Experience with power electronics and DC/DC converter design is highly desirable.
    • Strong PCB design knowledge, including layer stack-up, grounding, power distribution, routing, and component placement.
    • Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or equivalent.
    • Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power supplies, multimeters, and signal generators.
    • Ability to troubleshoot hardware at both circuit and system levels.
    • Good understanding of EMI/EMC design principles.
    • Familiarity with automotive communication interfaces such as CAN/CAN FD is an advantage.
    • Good technical documentation and communication skills.
    • Good command of written and spoken English.

Automotive / EV Experience – Preferred

    • Experience in one or more of the following is a strong advantage:
    • Battery Management Systems (BMS)
    • Lithium-ion battery systems
    • EV motor controllers / inverters
    • Automotive ECUs
    • Automotive power electronics
    • DC-DC converters
    • High-current switching and protection circuits

    • Automotive EMC/EMI requirements
    • ISO 26262 Functional Safety
    • Automotive product development and V-model processes
    • Hardware DFMEA / FMEA
    • Production validation and end-of-line testing

    What We Value?

    • We are looking for an engineer who is not limited to schematic capture, but can take ownership of a design from concept → design → prototype → debugging → validation → manufacturing. You should be comfortable working hands-on in the lab, solving difficult hardware problems, challenging design assumptions, and working closely with other engineering disciplines.

    What We Offer?

    • Opportunity to work on real EV products and powertrain technologies.
    • Exposure to the complete automotive product-development lifecycle.
    • Collaboration with experienced engineers in BMS, embedded systems, power electronics, systems engineering, and functional safety.
