EVRAID is an Egyptian deep-tech company developing and manufacturing electric vehicle technologies, with a focus on battery systems, Battery Management Systems (BMS), electric powertrains, and automotive electronics .We work across the complete product-development lifecycle from system architecture and hardware engineering through validation, manufacturing, and product integration with a strong focus on safety, reliability, performance, and real-world MENA operating conditions. We are looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team and contribute to the development of production-ready automotive electronics.Â
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive electronic hardware for BMS, motor controllers, DC-DC converters, and other EV powertrain systems.
- Develop analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics circuits.
- Design and review MOSFET IGBT power stages, gate drivers, current and voltage sensing, protection circuits.
- Create and review schematics, PCB layouts, stack-ups, component selections, and engineering BOMs.
- Perform hardware calculations, simulations, design reviews, and design trade-off studies.
- Support PCB layout, signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, and EMC/EMI design considerations.
- Develop hardware prototypes and perform bring-up, debugging, characterization, and validation.
- Define and execute hardware verification and validation tests using laboratory equipment.
- Investigate hardware failures and perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with embedded software, systems, mechanical, testing, manufacturing, and functional-safety teams.
- Support DFMEA, DFM/DFA, design-for-reliability, and production readiness activities.
- Prepare technical documentation including design specifications, test plans, test reports, BOMs, and engineering change documentation.
- Support transition from R&D prototypes to manufacturable production hardware.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of EVRAID hardware architectures, design methods, and engineering processes.
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware design.
- Strong understanding of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Experience with power electronics and DC/DC converter design is highly desirable.
- Strong PCB design knowledge, including layer stack-up, grounding, power distribution, routing, and component placement.
- Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or equivalent.
- Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power supplies, multimeters, and signal generators.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware at both circuit and system levels.
- Good understanding of EMI/EMC design principles.
- Familiarity with automotive communication interfaces such as CAN/CAN FD is an advantage.
- Good technical documentation and communication skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
