We are looking for a *Powertrain Systems Engineer* to join our growing engineering team and contribute to the development of next-generation powertrain functions throughout the complete V-cycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage system requirements for EV, Hybrid, and Diesel powertrain systems.
- Analyze customer requirements and translate them into system and software requirements while maintaining full bidirectional traceability.
- Define and develop powertrain functionalities, including: (Torque Management, Energy Management, Combustion Control, Air Path Management, Diesel Aftertreatment, Hybrid Functions, Electric Powertrain Functions
- Create functional specifications, interface definitions, and system architecture documentation.
- Support system integration, verification, validation, and root cause analysis.
- Work closely with software, calibration, testing, validation, and hardware teams.
- Participate in customer technical meetings and engineering reviews.
- Ensure compliance with automotive development processes, including Systems Engineering methodologies, V-Model, and ASPICE where applicable.
- Support issue investigation and change management throughout the project lifecycle.
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Automotive Powertrain development.
- Hands-on experience in Powertrain Systems Engineering and/or Powertrain Calibration.
- Experience in at least one of the following domains: (EV Powertrain, Hybrid Powertrain, Diesel/ICE Powertrain
- Experience developing or specifying powertrain functionalities.
- Experience writing and managing system requirements.
- Good understanding of the automotive V-cycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in international teams.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- Must currently reside in Egypt. Applications from candidates living outside Egypt will not be considered.
Nice to have
- Experience with requirements management tools such as: (Codebeamer, DOORS, Polarion)
- Experience with ASPICE processes.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety.
- Experience with CAN, CAN FD, LIN, or automotive communication protocols.
- Familiarity with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer) or ETAS tools.
- Experience with Model-Based Development (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Experience in automotive diagnostics (UDS/XCP).
- Experience working directly with international OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
